Reality News: No More ‘Hey Paula,’ an Idol Update, and Her Personal Life

Well, thankfully Paula has told Bravo “no” to a second season of “Hey Paula.” Bravo asked her to do another season, but she said no because of the way the show portrayed her. Actually, I had a worse opinion of Paula Abdul after seeing the show. I know television shows, especially reality shows, can portray the people featured in almost any light they wish, but I find it hard to believe that the diva behavior is all due to Bravo’s editing. Paula told USA Today that it was hard to watch her show. Trust me Paula, it was just as hard for the viewing public! Her rants, raves, and irrational behavior were just too much. I love a train wreck as much as the next person, but “Hey Paula” was just a horrible, horrible show.

Paula did talk to USA Today about a new critiquing strategy for season seven of “American Idol.” She has decided to be “very honest” with the contestants. Why would she change her encouraging demeanor? Because she felt that the talent auditioning for the show was falling a bit. Paula is currently dating J.T. Torregiani, a partner in The Dolce Group (which was co-founded by “Big Brother All-Stars” winner Mike “Boogie” Malin. The couple has been together since meeting in April and Paula calls him her “best friend.”
