Reality News: Symon Replaces Irvine on Dinner: Impossible
Robert Irvine left his Food Network series “Dinner: Impossible” last month after four seasons when it was discovered that he exaggerated his credentials on his resume. Irvine listed a B.S. degree in Food and Nutrition from the University of Leeds. He insisted that it was a program that was set up through the Royal Navy, but personnel at Leeds cannot find any records of him every having been there. He also claimed to have been a White House chef, however, former White House executive chef Walter Scheib said Irvine never had anything to do with any State or White House dinner function. When pressured, Irvine said he trained military cooks at the White House.
So with all this controversy, the Food Network had to find for a new chef to take over the series. They found him – on another series. Iron Chef Michael Symon has been named as the replacement host of “Dinner: Impossible,” which has the chef prepare dinner under extreme conditions. Symon begins taping 10 new shows this week, with the first airing this summer. Symon graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and he is the chef as well as owner of the Lola and Lolita restaurants in Cleveland.
