Results of the Men
Tonight we heard from the men of American Idol. There were a few I could have heard less of, including one of my favorites, David. Simon found his rendition of “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” a bit of a joke. Patrick was deemed “average” for his performance. Bucky stuck to his roots with a Lynard Skynard song, as did Chris with Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead or Alive.” Sway blew two of the three judges away. Will, channeling Peter Brady’s look and Michael Jackson’s voice, did well with “I Want You Back,” although Simon, in his pissy mood thought it was average. Little baby faced Kevin did much better than I expected – even receiving the coveted “you da bomb” from Randy. Gideon did well with “Shout” but not well enough to impress Simon with his catty Chippendales comment. I am not all eat up with Elliot, but the judges were – even Simon, saying, “In the past 5 seasons, you are potentially the best male vocalist we’ve had.” Whatever dude. Bobby needs to hook up with Wayne Newton in Vegas because he is very lounge singer like. Ace wooed the judges (especially Paula) and girls in the audience with his Brad Pitt eyes. I thought he was okay, just okay. My choice for best of the night was Taylor. He cracks me up and he did a great job tonight! I’d say the top four were Chris, Ace, Elliot, and Taylor. For the two to go, I’d have to say David (sob) and Bobby – although I hope America will give David another chance to croon to us again!
