Sabrina Bryan eliminated from Dancing With The Stars
Another week of Dancing With The Stars and another week of interesting happenings. The first one – Jane Seymour has a suspected case of food poisoning. Tom Bergeron suggested to the remaining stars to get a physical and hire a food taster. Is this really necessary, or do you thing Mr. Bergeron is getting himself caught up in all the hype around the show?
Surprise, surprise – the judges select the rock and roll group dance as their choice for the encore. As if the costumes all the stars were wearing at the start of the show would not have given this away. Obviously Jane did not perform in the group dance, but the consummate professional Tony did perform and actually he and Julianne did a nice solo that I’m sure was choreographed on the fly. At one point it looked as if he was trying to get Carrie Ann out onto the floor to dance with him. While that would have been pretty good to see I guess it would not be appropriate for one of the judges to be performing with the same people they have to critique the following week.
Barry Manilow was the guest performer this evening, and in his first song Cheryl Burke and Louis Van Amstel performed with him. Let me just say how nice it was to see Louis back dancing on the show. I’m not sure what is going on there, if anything, but I really think he is sorely missed on a weekly basis. I’m getting a bit scared with these dancers and their addiction to self tanners or spray tanning. Cheryl looked really, really, really, really tan tonight and I thought last night that Cameron was a few shades darker than usual.
During the first announcement of the couples who were “safe” they announce Mel B and Maks and then Jane and Tony. I thought Tony was going to have a stroke – he looked truly shocked to be safe. Since he did not have Jane to celebrate with, Maks came over to be a surrogate hugger. I’m shocked that Jane and Tony made it through to next week. I think her age is really going to be a drawback since she is going to have to learn two brand new routines in just a few days’ time.
Talk about self promotion or cross promotion – we were subjected to a “sample” of the type of dancing we are going to see on the new ABC reality television program Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann. That show is going to feature two teams of people (one for Bruno, one for Carrie Ann) who can sing as well as dance. They will compete against each other until a winner is named. (I did not catch if it will be one person eliminated each week, or if the teams will compete against each other as a unit for the entire season.) Since the spin offs are usually never as good as the originals I wonder how successful this show will be. But I’m sure I’ll get sucked into watching it.
In an obviously pre-taped segment, Barry Manilow performed his hit “Mandy” while Jonathan and Anna danced along to the music. The whole performance was beautiful – the music, the candles, the costumes and especially the dancing.
The bottom two couples this evening were Cameron and Edyta and Sabrina and Mark. What the hell was this about? These are two of the best couples in the competition and they do not deserve to be in the bottom two! I think this is a case of people just thinking that they are doing so well and have such a good fan base that they do not need to vote for them. Get off your butts America and start voting for your favorite couple or they will encounter the same fate as Sabrina and Mark, who were eliminated from Dancing With The Stars tonight. What the hell was this? I am in shock. The judges were in shock. Tom Bergeron said that he doesn’t usually say what he really is thinking about the contestants but he had her pegged as a finalist. I guess this just shows you that no one is safe. AS they are performing their last dance to “My Eyes Adore You” performed by Barry Manilow you can see Sabrina telling Mark “I’m sorry”. I don’t think this is her fault at all. I think it is the fault of everyone (like me) who loved her and did not vote for her. I will not, repeat, will not make that mistake again.

Very upset about Sabrina leaving. I thought Sabrina and Mel would be the last ones left to face off in the finale. I’m disappointed in seeing them go. Vote for your favorites!

Best dancer. Shame that this happened.
