Sean is hired as Trump’s Apprentice

Education only goes so far – there’s a lot to be said for life and work experience. Of the final two candidates on this season’s Apprentice Sean had it and Lee didn’t. Both individuals have excellent educational credentials. Both are easy on the eye and make a nice presentation. Both seem to be well liked by their peers and have the ability to get along with the diverse group of people that made up this season’s candidates. It came down to the fact that Sean has 9 years on Lee – in age and in work experience.

I thought the final project would play into Trump’s decision. I don’t remember hearing anything about the outcome of the projects in terms of dollars raised for their charities. I guess the Leary Foundation and the NYC firefighters must have been satisfied with the job Lee did on the hockey game as they were attending his party in Long Island.

The age and experience factor played a major role in the selection of the teams. While this might not have been the reason Sean won, it played a factor. Lee picked people who were loyal to him, regardless of their skill set. Sean picked people with good skills that could work together and with him as project manager. Having Lenny meet and work with the celebrities at the hockey game was a mistake. He just doesn’t have the style or polish necessary to get along well with everyone and make them feel comfortable and special. Roxanne would have been a better choice, as she makes a really great presentation.

I do need to complain about the length of tonight’s show. In typical reality television fashion we were subjected to a long, drawn out, at some times boring finale. Come on, give us the answer at the end of the first hour as you would do during the season. Plus, do you really think Sean picked the New York project to be closer to Trump or closer to Tammy? I know what I think.

I’m sorry to see Lee get fired, but I’m not unhappy that Sean won (I was unhappy last year when Randall won, and how about him plugging his web site?). I just can’t wait to see how the show plays itself in California, being that Trump and his organization are so much a part of New York City.
