Season Premier of Celebrity Circus
Tonight was Round 1 of Celebrity Circus on NBC. The show features 7 celebrities who have been training for the circus. On each round of Celebrity Circus the celebrities perform a circus act and are scored on a scale of 1 to 10 by a panel of judges that include: Aurelia Cata, Mitch Gaylord and Louise Spence. The host for this show is Joey Fatone.
The first act this evening was Antonio Sabato Jr. who performed the “Tissue”. This act requires a lot of body strength which was a perfect match for him. Out of all of the acts, this was probably the top 2 acts for me. The judges had a combined score of 7.7.
Second to appear was Rachel Hunter (Appeared on Season 1 of Dancing with the Stars). She performed an act called the “Cerceau”. This act involved her doing a lot of tight circles in the air. The judges had a combined score of 6.7.
Third tonight was Wee Man from “Jackass”. He performed the “Wheel of Death”. It’s a pretty cool act as two wheels go around horizontally in a circle and you perform both inside and outside the wheel. For his efforts, he had a combined score of 6.7.
Fourth to perform was Stacy Dash. She performed the “Trapzee Bungee” and was the most exciting act this evening. Not only did she give a great performance but she did it with a broken rib. She scored an 8.
Fifth this evening was Blu Cantrell who performed the “Spanish Web”. Out of all of the performers this was the most boring performance. To add to this what would a reality tv show be without its controversy. After receiving the lowest average score of the evening of 4.7 she got a little mouthy with Aurelia over her performance.
Sixth of the list tonight was Christopher Knight who performed the “High Wire Act”. He was initially set to perform the “German Wheel” but ended up with a broken arm. Philippe Chartrand who has been the trainer of these celebrities suggested that he change to the “High Wire” because it would be the least stressful for his broken arm. He act was not the most exciting but it had to be the most challenging. I can’t imagine walking the tightrope from a height but he did it. The judges agreed that he could have done a little more performing but gave him a score of 7.3
The final act this evening was the “Duo Trapeze” performed by Janet Evans. This was another one of my favorite performances. She received an average score of 7.3.

I know a lot of people are asking if this is a worth while show to watch. I can say that I enjoyed watching this show. It’s always interesting to see these celebrities do something that they have never done before. The amount of time for the season premiere seemed to be just right. I didn’t get the feeling that they were stuffing a lot of fluff into the show. Stop by next week to read our recap of Round 2 and see who becomes the first person eliminated from Celebrity Circus.

I love Stacey Dash for performing with 3 broken ribs! She’s my vote to take the whole thing!

That had to hurt like heck. Just breathing alone is hurtful. Can’t imagine with her body moving all around up there how it felt.
