Shear Genius: Dee is named the Winner!
Tonight on Shear Genius, the three finalist – Dee, Charlie, and Nicole – had to tell a story though a woman’s hair. They would each have four clients at different ages – 18, 30, 45, and 60. The stylists had to tell a story as the woman aged. Charlie’s woman was a child star, won her first Oscar at 30, by 45, she was successful, and at 60, was directing her first film. Dee’s woman was a rock star, who got her big break at 30, by 45, she was twice divorced, and at 60, she was a grandma, but still had a young spirit. Nicole’s woman (we later learned it was based on her mom) was an average woman with little money at 18, then at 30, she was raising a family, by 45, she was successful and raising grandchildren at 60.
The judges thought Dee showed great variety. They liked that Charlie used iconic hairstyles which were difficult to achieve. They loved Nicole’s shin and 40’s cut, but thought her 60 cut looked unfinished (she said it was). Nicole was told she was cut and then the judges told Dee she was the winner. Poor Charlie – no nose job for his boyfriend!
