Sigh…America Votes for Another Singer
Tonight, to fill time, we got to see five Weird and Whacky acts again. These were all musical. There was Arthur the One Man Band (I think the title is self explanatory), Zach Freeman (who sampled music and sang), Bandaloni (another one man band), Mayling Garcia (who play the Glass Armonica, invented by Benjamin Franklin), and Duane Flatmo (who played the mandolin). I must admit, while all were talented, I was a bit bored by most of the acts until Duane. He started out with his large mandolin then said he needed to play it like they do in the studio, with a mixer. Then he pulls an actual kitchen mixer out of his bag and proceeds to play flamingo music on the mandolin – it was hilarious! He was the winner and goes on to compete against the other weird and whacky talent later on in the season.
More filler time as Jurassic 5 played in honor of Rapping Granny. At least I didn’t have to listen to her again.
After what seemed like forever, we get to the results. The top two vote getters were Nathan Burton and Bianca Ryan. Hoping that an act that was not a singer would get into the final was, of course, fruitless. After seeing Nathan perform another great routine then hearing Bianca sing again, we find out Bianca was the country’s choice. Now we have 5 singing acts and one gymnast/dance act. Big variety, huh? Maybe the show should be called America’s Got Talent, but Not a Lot of Variety. No, that’s not true – America has plenty of variety, but for some reason, the judges and we aren’t choosing it. Well, I say “we,” but I voted for Nathan!
