So You Think You Can Dance – Susie and Marquis are Eliminated
As I predicted, Chelsea and Thayne, formerly of the Hot Tamale Train, were in the bottom three on So You Think You Can Dance. They were joined by Susie and Marquis and Chris and Comfort. Mia thought the viewing audience got it right with Chelsea and Thayne, Mary thought Susie and Marquis were amazing the first week, but then had a tough time with their dance this week, and Nigel thought Comfort and Chris were just having bad luck with Comfort’s shoulder being out the first week, and Chris getting Krump the second week.
For the girls, I didn’t see it as a difficult choice. I have never cared much for Susie and wondered how she made it to the top 20. Yes, she is sexy, but sexy does not a good dancer make. And the hair tossing just gets on my ever last nerve! There was no way the judges were going to send Chelsea home, but I am afraid Comfort is great at what she does, but may not be able to make the switch to other styles of dance. However, she will get her chance to try as the judges sent Susie home.
For the guys – what a tough decision - all the contemporary guys in the bottom three. I thought they add did well, although Nigel accused Marquis of being all tricks in his solo. The judges thought Thayne had great potential (is it just me or does he remind you of Benji?) and that Chris was showing his personality and starting to show his passion for dance, so Marquis was told he would be going home. However, Nigel did say the dancers could fail and still be brilliant.
