So You Think You Can Dance: Las Vegas week continues
Las Vegas week continued tonight on So You Think You Can Dance, with the remaining dancers beginning Day 2 by learning a jazz routine. The day started with 77 dancers left in contention, but by 9 pm that night there were 69 left. After the jazz round the dancers were broken into groups and asked to choreograph a routine that would be performed to the judges the following morning. They chose the music randomly and most of them ended up working through the night to prepare the routines.
Day 3 began with the self choreographed routines, but mid-day brought on the most dreaded of all the rounds – the contemporary round. Mia Michaels choreographed a routine that brought about many emotions in the dancers – more so in those that survived the round. Eleven more dancers were eliminated after this round.
Day 4 began with the final round of choreography, the Broadway routine. This time the dancers were split into male and female groups and performed in small groups. Pauline, one of the contestants, fell during the final leap in her rehearsal and ended up being taken to the hospital. Thankfully it was only a sprain, but the doctors advised her to not dance for two days. Her status was still unknown at the end of the show tonight.
Thirty eight dancers were left at the end of day 4 to perform a final solo for the judges. Next week the judges will make the final cuts and bring the field of dancers down to the final 20.
