So You Think You Can Dance: The Auditions Continue

The Charleston guest judge this evening on SYTYCD was Tyce Diorio. As usual, there were the good dancers and the bad dancers. Sheila Kaiser was great; despite the fact that her dad didn’t want her to be there (he thought she should be in school). But, Nigel said of her routine that “every little thing about it was beautiful.” Jeremiah Hughes didn’t really touch me all that much, but Nigel called him “exciting.” Twins Anthony and Antwain auditioned separately. Anthony almost blew it – Antwain said he was a good dancer, but maybe underestimated what the judges wanted. Antwain was great and after Nigel questioned the difference between the two, he asked them to do a routine together. They were incredible! Both went to the choreography round and later got tickets to Vegas. BJ Harris – oh my gosh, talk about crazy moves! I had to pause it and have my hubby come see this guy. But, as I feared, he didn’t do well in the choreography round and was sent home, which is a shame – he has talent! Courtney Galiano also got a golden ticket to Vegas, as did Claire Calloway, who had to drop out in Season 1 when she hurt her foot.

Charleston produced the bad dancers too, especially Syiddah King, who was so arrogant, she didn’t even let Tyce tell her how bad she was. Shamika Robinson too made an early exit, not able to hear the truth about her dancing. One “bad” highlight was cute little Abigail Thurman, who was a swimming instructor. She was so cute when she said “It’s true…I suck at dance.”

Next, SYTYCD moved on to Washington, D.C., with guest judge Dan Karaty. Making the grade or rather the trip to Vegas will be Megan Campbell (despite the hair tossing), Markus Shields. However, another Markus – Smith with his partner Deonna Ball didn’t do well in the choreography round and were sent home. Phucdat “Atomic Goofball” Ngyuen was a good B Boy, but couldn’t make it with the choreography either. Brandon Bryant, who auditioned in Season 1, made it to Vegas.

As for the bad, there was the return of Derrick “Dancing D” Bradley, who thankfully didn’t need oxygen like he did last year.
