On the season finale of So You Think You Can Dance, everyone was back. Former guest judges Mia Michaels, Adam Shankman, Debbie Allen, Lil C, and of course Nigel and Mary were there. They said all the choreographers of the season were in the audience, but I didn’t see Sonya.

Next up in the two hour finale was a season recap, including Will’s departure (still sad). The top 20 performed a Shane Sparks routine (didn’t see him either, but he is probably busy on America’s Best Dance Crew, which also ends tonight). The judges were asked their favorite routines of the year. Nigel chose the Bollywood routine while Mary picked Courtney and Gev’s rumba.

One of my favorite parts of the night was the Pop-Off between Robert Muraine (who dropped out in Vegas) and Philip Chbeeb (who got a ticket to Vegas, but couldn’t go because of pneumonia). Both those guys are incredible, but when they asked the judges, Robert was deemed the winner. Then, there were more favorite routines, including Adam’s (Comfort and Twitch’s hip hop routine), Lil C’s (Mark and Chelsie’s Bleeding Love), Mia’s (Katee and Will’s contemporary routine), and then another from Adam (Sonya’s “The Garden” with Mark and Courtney). In between those, we got to see Mary dance with Dmitry – woohoo!

The first dancer to be told they were not America’s favorite was Courtney. She got flowers that were bigger than she was! That was followed by a routine by the top 5 guys and a rabbit routine by Cirque du Soleil.

Next up was a real season shocker to me – Katee was told she was eliminated. I honestly thought she would win or certainly at least finish in second place. But, there was another surprise for Katee – a good one. This year, the top girl finisher got $50,000.

Dancers from the Debbie Allen Dance Academy performed next. Ugh, by this time, I was worn out and just wanted to know who won! But then wait, was that Nigel out there hoofing it? It was nice to see Nigel and Mary both dancing tonight! That was followed by another favorite routine of Mary’s – Mia’s door routine with Twitch and Katee.

Then, the Jonas Brothers took the stage to sing. I knew the end must be coming soon! But not before two more judge favorites – Debbie’s (Twitch and Kherington) and Nigel’s (Katee and Joshua’s Tabitha and Napoleon routine).

Finally, finally, finally – the winner was announced (after a recap of past contestants and a performance of the best of the best, including Hok – love him). The tension was killing me – I cannot imagine what Twitch and Joshua were going through! For the first time, a street dancer was named the winner – my boy Joshua. I guess the two hours of calling paid off. I do feel for Twitch – you could tell he so wanted it, but I am glad Joshua won, and I am sure Twitch can find a job to avoid the Navy now. And Twitch looked truly happy for Joshua - what a great couple of guys.
