So You Think You Can Dance: Top 8 Perform
It seems harder each week to decide who should go home on So You Think You Can Dance. Of course, that decision is up to America, but it almost seems as if it comes down to personal preference now.
There was nothing but praise last night for the top 8 with one exception – Mark and Comfort’s foxtrot. Each couple performed two dances and of course, everyone had a solo. Will and Courtney did a great samba (guest judge Toni Basil loved it so much, she forgot to take notes) and hip-hop routine. Who could have imagined that Dirty Dancing inspired Will to take dance lessons? Twitch and Katee did a contemporary routine that caused Mary to say they were two of the best dancers on the stage. Their Broadway routine also drew praise, with Nigel saying there was not one routine that Katee has done that he has not enjoyed.
Mark and Comfort drew the foxtrot and hip-hop. Am I the only one that is suspicious that since her return, Comfort has drawn hip-hop two weeks in a row? Of course they nailed the hip-hop routine. But in return, they butchered the foxtrot just as badly. I think Mary said it was one of the worst she had ever seen. Joshua and Chelsie had an Argentine tango routine choreographed by Dmitry and disco. I just love it when Nigel talks about Joshua’s “bum.” He is a thick guy, but he moves so smoothly on the dance floor.
I honestly think time is up for Comfort and Mark, simply based on their foxtrot.
