So You Think You Can Dance: Top Nine Couples Perform

This week on SYTYCD, the couple’s were asked what they liked and didn’t like about their partners. Most of it was boring but I thought it was funny when Mark said he liked the scent of Chelsie’s hair. The guest judge this week was Mia Michaels.

The first couple up was Chelsea and Thayne doing a jazz dance. Last week they were on the hot tamale train, but this week, Nigel said the train derailed. He didn’t even like their outfits! Mia and Mary agreed that they didn’t have enough of an impact in the dance. Next up was the other Chelsie with her partner Mark. They danced the Argentine tango. Nigel wanted Chelsie to be a bit nastier, but Mary and Mia loved it. It was my favorite routine as well. Jessica and Will danced a hip-hop routine. I thought she did really well, but Mary and Mia said she was more like a cheerleader and she was not hitting it hard enough. Nigel however agreed with me that Jessica did a good job. Matt and Kourtni did the foxtrot. I liked this routine as well and Mia said it was very old Hollywood. Nigel thought it was all a bit fake, but said he thoroughly enjoyed it.

Courtney and Gev did a contemporary routine by Mandy Moore. Mia said she expected more from Courtney, but said Gev was there for her. Nigel thought they were a well-balanced couple. Katee and Joshua peformed a Broadway dance, which was great – it even got Nigel out of his chair! Susie and Marquis did the salsa, which you would think was right up her alley, but it was just okay. Mia said she wasn’t crazy about it and Mary said it didn’t work for her either. Kherington and Twitch did the Viennese waltz that was choreographed by Jean Mark Generaux. It was for his daughter who is severely handicapped. He said watching the show made her happy. Mia got on to Kherington for smiling during the whole dance, but Nigel stood up for her. Comfort and Chris did the krump and Mia praised them both. Mary thought Comfort could have hit is harder.

Who goes home this week? I don’t know, I think that despite being a favorite last week, Chelsea and Thayne may be in trouble.

      Hey there,

I love the show and have watched it every season I have danced for many years my self and I just wanted to comment on how Marquis got voted off this week. I watch the show with my sister and mom and we actually reminded the show to watch his solo again. We didn’t realize how amazing he was until we saw that solo. His solo was by far the best out of all the boys. I don’t understand why you think his solo was all tricks because speaking from experience I could never to any of the moves he did those moves are unbelievable hard and I was impressed. I don’t feel dancing for you life is actually fair because it seems it doesn’t matter how good a person’s solo is they still get voted off. All of us personally think Chris’ solo was by far the worst. We all think that the contestants of the show need to do as many tricks and as many moves as they can since they have such a short time. The most memorable solos from past seasons have been Shawnas and Neil’s. Just thought I would comment because Marquis definitely won us over and proved his solo should have kept him there. Thanks!
