So You Think You Can Dance: Vegas Week!

It was Vegas week on “So You Think You Can Dance.” There were a lot of familiar faces moving on (Nathan Trasoras who at 17, was given a ticket to Vegas for season 6, Shelby “Skip” Skipper from New Orleans, and Ellenore Scott, who got a standing ovation by the audience and judges), but there were some that weren’t. Thomas Hamilton, who was looking to get out of his drug infested Georgia town, climbed up the scaffolding during his dance. Nigel had him get down and he was told he wouldn’t be moving on. Deaf dancer Allison Becker was also sent home.

Same sex couple Willem de Vries and Jacob Jason were split when the judges liked Willem, but not Jacob. Willem was asked to stay, but didn’t get to say goodbye to Jacob.

Hip hop was the next style and it wasn’t for everyone. Bow-tied Teddy tried to look ghetto, but it wasn’t working. Jean Lloret was a great hip hop guy, but he was having trouble with the choreography. Teddy made it through to the next round; however Jean didn’t make it through. Like Nigel said, it was a shame because what he does its incredible.

Ryan Kasprzak split the judges three/three, but that kept him in the competition. Nigel said his performance wasn’t strong enough and it scared Ryan. But, he did say hip hop was his worst thing. I thought he looked pretty good, but I love Ryan, but he was not long for the competition. I don’t know how he made it through to the end last season because he was told to leave after ballroom.

One poor dancer, Billy, got smacked by his partner during the fast, Louis van Amstel routine. He had to wait until the bleeding stopped to return and missed the rehearsal. However, he and his partner both made it through to the next round.

My favorite couple was Iveta and krumper Russell Ferguson. They were hot, hot, hot during the ballroom routine and even had Adam giving them a standing ovation.

B-boy Legacy had to fight for his life, but he was saved at least for another day. John Litzler got a “no” from Tyce, which sent him home. But, the judges did tell him to come back. Also sent home by the end of the episode were Teddy and Skip, but both promised to return.
