So You Think You Can Dance: Who Goes Home This Week?
Eighteen contestants down. If it seemed hard to eliminate two dancers last week, imagine eliminating two more this week! Mia Michaels said America got it wrong last week sending Ricky home, but then he was her favorite.
First up were Lauren and Neil with hip hop. Mia said Neil tore it up, but she expected more from Lauren. However, Nigel said he loved it from both of them. Jessi and Pasha got jazz, but it had more of an African rhythm to it. All the judges loved the routine and that it was so different from their waltz of last week. Jaime and Hok pulled Samba out of the hat. Mia loved it, Mary had some criticism of their footwork, and oddly enough, Nigel agreed with both of them. Sabra and Dominic did contemporary and got a lot of praise from the judges.
Faina and Cedric, who were in the bottom three last week, didn’t do so well with the fox trot this week. Actually, Faina was excellent, but Nigel said he thought they would be in the bottom three again because Cedric seemed so nervous. Lacey and Kameron did Broadway and they were dubbed “the sexiest couple” by Mia. Anya and Danny did the Viennese waltz and all judges thought it was beautiful, with Mia saying they bring professionalism and maturity to the competition. Shauna and Jimmy danced hip hop. Mia felt Shauna had a dance school bit going on it, but Mary and Nigel loved it. Sarah and Jesus ended the competition with the paso doble. I agree with Mia – the music was a bit weird (We Will Rock You by Queen), but I did like the dancing.
I think the bottom three this week will be Faina and Cedric, Sara and Jesus, and Lauren and Neil. I think maybe Jaime and Hok deserve to be there, but again I think Hok has too big a following to let that happen.
