Stacey Dash
Stacey Dash is a film and television actress who is starring in NBC’s daring reality show Celebrity Circus. On the season premiere, viewers found out that Stacey broke a rib while training for the show, but stayed on despite the injury. In fact, she performed the trapeze bungee the first night.
Stacey was born in Bronx, New York on January 20, 1966. Stacey has a mixed heritage of African American and Aztec and she has naturally green eyes. Stacey’s first acting role was as Bambi’s mother in her third grade school play. She graduated from Paramus High School in Paramus, New Jersey then began getting gigs in commercials. Stacey first appeared on television in the made for TV movie Farrell for the People in 1982. She also made appearances on “The Cosby Show,” “St. Elsewhere,” “TV 101,” and “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” She had her first major movie role in 1988’s Moving alongside Richard Pryor. She also appeared with Mark Wahlberg and Danny Devito in 1994’s Renaissance Man. In 1995, she got an even bigger break when she appeared as Dionne in the movie Clueless. At the time, Stacey, who was playing a teenager, was actually in her late 20s. She reprised the role of Dionne for the UPN television show “Clueless,” which ran from 1996 until 1999.
After “Clueless” ended, she appeared in 10 episodes of “The Strip,” but it was cancelled after its first year. She has appeared on “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “Eve,” but has primarily focused on films, appearing in Paper Soldiers, Gang of Roses, Getting Played, Ghost Image, and View from the Top. She has two completed films coming out this year and three films currently in production, including Phantom Punch with Ving Rhames.
Stacey has also appeared in several music videos, possibly due to the fact that her cousin is Damon Dash, the co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records. She appeared in Carl Thomas’ “Emotional” video in 2001, Kanye West’s “All Falls Down” in 2004, and Marques Houston’s “Favorite Girl.” Stacey appeared in the August 2006 issue of Playboy – at the age of 40. She will appear on the 2008 August cover of King Magazine. Stacey launched Letters of Marque, her own lingerie line in 2006.
Stacey works with many children’s charities such as Kids Race Against Drugs. She has been married once, to Brian Lovell, from 1999 and 2006. That marriage produced her daughter Lola, who was born in 2003. She also has a son, Austin, from a previous relationship with R&B singer Christopher Williams.
She currently lives in Los Angeles. In the future, Stacey hopes to produce, write a book, and star in another TV series.
