Stevie Wonder week on American Idol
This week was Stevie Wonder week on American Idol. I thought it was a little unfair to people like Kellie, Melissa, and Bucky who have pretty much stuck to country music. Melissa, despite forgetting the words did pretty well and Bucky was actually good. Kellie, however, sucked. Maybe it was the wrong song for her but I feel like she will be the one to leave this week. The show started off very slowly with Ace, but ended with a bang as Chris did Higher Ground. It was great, but I believe he had an advantage as he more or less did the Red Hot Chili Pepper remake than the original Stevie Wonder version. Mandisa was not as good as usual, but Taylor, Katharine, Paris, and Chris blew the lid off the place. The judges loved Lisa’s version of Signed, Sealed, Delivered, but I was not as impressed. Even Kevin (dubbed Little Kevin by Stevie) did great, despite his strange dance moves. But the best line of the night was when Simon said Kevin’s performance was appaulling and Kevin said “I wasn’t expecting much from you anyway.” Go Kevin! I think it will be either Ace or Kellie leaving us this week and quite frankly, I am ready to see Ace go. His performances have bored me the last few weeks.
