Survivor: Betsy is Voted Off
The old people of “Survivor” had a tough week. During the very physical Immunity and Reward challenge, Jeff warned the tribes they were “on the line of getting ugly” and anyone else who gave a cheap shot would be pulled out. Ben earned the distinction of being the first Survivor contestant to have that done to him after a cheap clip to Russell S. Jeff asked him how he felt about it several times, but he had no remorse.
Someone who wasn’t happy about it was Yasmin. When Galu won the challenge, Russell S. chose her to go to the other tribe and live with them until tribal. No Exile this year, you just get exiled to the other tribe for a while. Yasmin did not endear herself to Foa Foa. She came in, offering them support and her words of wisdom. Foa Foa was particularly low because not only had they lost two challenges in a row, but Mike had to leave because his blood pressure was low. Dr. Mick thought it was a good call, but that put them even further down. Yasmin said she wanted to talk to Ben in private then bashed him about tackling her. He said she smelled and was “close to being a hooker.” I almost spit my Coke out when he said that. At least by the time he said she was “ghetto trash” at tribal, I was ready.
Over at Galu, Shambo tried out the new fishing gear they won as part of the challenge. She not only came back empty handed as far as fish, she lost the mouthpiece to the mask. That didn’t endure her to the tribe, but we will see if they remember next week.
Spinmaster Russell H. had been telling everyone that Betsy needed to go. They may have thought it was because she was old, but it was because she challenged his authority. Anyone that does that has to go, according to him. And, he is in a good position to say stuff like that because, as much as I dislike him, you have to respect his game play. He found the immunity idol without any clues! And he did it right in front of everyone. No one paid attention, but he told Jaison. Those two have formed an alliance, if not completely trusting of each other.
Betsy had tried to point out how volatile Ben was. He got kicked off the challenge, kept everyone up chopping all night, then had the confrontation with Yasmin (who probably deserved it BTW). That didn’t work, the Foa Foa lemmings all followed Russell H. and voted Betsy off.
