Survivor China: Todd is the Winner
If you have been watching this season and missed the finale, you need to find someone who Tivoed it, download it from iTunes, or see if it is available online at CBS.com. Tonight’s finale and the follow up show were great!
Todd won and I think he was most deserving of the million dollars. Amanda lied to Denise, point blank telling her “I will guarantee you I will not vote for you tonight.” And then she did and Denise was eliminated in fourth place, leaving Todd, Amanda, and Courtney as the final three. See, Todd may have lied and schemed this way to the top, but I don’t think he ever pointedly told people “I won’t…” And Courtney – what did she really do, other than survive. She won one immunity challenge because she can balance her little less than 100 pound self.
The jury was brutal, but I think honestly, that is where Todd won the game. The answers he gave were better than Amanda or Courtney. Todd is a talker, a people person and he knew exactly what to say and who to say it to. He even admitted he played Jean-Robert a bit when he told JR at tribal that he schemed to get him out because JR started thinking strategically and he was the biggest threat to Todd. Todd knew to play his ego. Amanda tried the apologetic route, but Peih-Gee called her on it. Jaime was hard on the final three – especially Courtney. I didn’t really expect that.
The voting faded into a live show in Hollywood. We knew that Jaime voted for Todd, Erik voted for Amanda, and Denise voted for Courtney. The rest of the votes were read at the live show with Todd winning four votes to Amanda’s one and Courtney’s two. I’d really like to know who else voted for Courtney. We found out JR ended up voting for Todd. We learned James was getting a bit of attention from female fans – big surprise there (not). He was voted player of the year by the fans and took home a cool $100k for that. Denise lost her lunch lady job and had to work nights as a janitor so she wouldn’t be a distraction at the school. Mark Burnett decided on the spot to give her $50,000, which was nice. We found out there was a love connection between Erik and Jaime – they are now dating.
And finally, we found out why Denise has the mullet. Jeff said in TV Guide two weeks ago that she gave him the perfect answer, but no one knew what it was. She said that, working in the lunchroom, she had to have short hair, but wanted to feel like a woman and keep her hair long for her husband. Aw.
