Survivor Fans vs. Favorites: Ami is Eliminated
Ozzy continues to rule the roost. By a miracle (and perhaps a little hard work that I thought was going to result in a broken rib), Erik was saved tonight, even though it seemed that Ami, Cirie, and Amanda wanted him gone.
After Airai tribe ate a rat (ick) and James and Parvati complained about the camp, each tribe got treemail. They were to choose a member of the opposite tribe to send to Exile island before the immunity competition. The good thing was those individuals would receive individual immunity that night. Airai chose Ozzy and Malakal chose James, then scratched his name out and chose Alexis.
At the challenge, the tribe members had to go across an obstacle course one at a time, retrieve a flag and come back. While going across the course, members of the other tribe were throwing canvas bags, trying to knock them off. First tribe to retrieve five flags won not only immunity, but also a pizza and beer party. For the fourth time in a row, Airai won.
Erik busted his butt, knowing his chances of staying were slim if they didn’t win. The kid almost broke a rib jumping for the platform. But they still lost and it seemed as if all hope for Erik was lost as well. I knew the girls were going to team up against him. Erik pleaded his case, spilled his guts about all of Ami’s past plans to get rid of Ozzy, etc. Afterwards, she talked to Amanda and Cirie then told Erik “thank you” because that talk brought them closer. But, the minute Ozzy stepped foot off the boat from Exile island, Erik talked to him. Ozzy felt he could trust Erik and was upset when he heard of Ami’s past plans to oust him. Erik talked to Amanda, but she seemed set on getting Erik out.
At tribal, Ami made a tearful plea, telling everyone that they knew they could look her in the eye and trust her. When Ozzy asked her outright if she had gunned for him in the past, she said she hadn’t. Erik looked a bit lost, but said he had always told the truth. With Ami in tears, I felt sure Erik was gone.
But no, Ozzy managed to sway not only Amanda (which is understandable), but also Cirie. Everyone voted for Ami except Ami. Yet, Ozzy doesn’t see himself as a “leader” - right!
Next week is the merge, so that should prove interesting.
