Survivor Fans vs. Favorites: James and Alexis Go Home

Well, rumor was another Survivor was leaving without being voted out. When I saw that Alexis fell at night and hurt her knee, I was kind of hoping it was her rather than James, but no, James was the second person this season to be medically evacuated. He even showed up on the jury with an IV! That sucks.

The reward challenge was the family thing and the winner got to go to Jellyfish Lake and swim in it with their loved one. It was hilarious; the survivors had to answer questions about each other in private. Then they all came back together and you had to guess what the group said – whether it was true or not. There were clay likenesses of everyone with three ropes attached. If you guess with the group, you got to cut a rope from someone’s likeness. Three ropes cut and that person was eliminated. The funniest part was when Parvati was the first one to go and once the third rope was cut, a spike came flying up and busted the clay face on her likeness. I thought James was going to die laughing. In the end, Cirie, who was out but still could cut one rope, had to chose between Alexis and Amanda. She chose to cut Amanda’s rope, so Alexis won and got to go with her brother. She also chose to send Amanda to Exile Island to search for the hidden idol. Alexis got to take two others and their loved ones with her. She chose Cirie and her husband and Natalie and her mom. It was cool seeing all the jellyfish, but there were SO many, it might have been a bit freaky. Apparently, Cirie had a moment of awakening and realized everything wasn’t a threat.

The girls decided to gang up on Erik, since he was the only male left. But, they realized with James gone, if Erik won immunity, they would have to start knocking off each other. Amanda found a clue on Exile Island that told her the idol was buried under the flag at camp. She came back and told everyone she didn’t have it, which she didn’t. But she told Parvati she knew where it was and Parvati told her everyone was going to vote for her, so she needed to find it.

Who knew Erik would turn out to be the man? The immunity challenge was to shot a bottle with your name on it with a high powered rifle. Natalie did pretty good, hitting two bottles, but Erik hit his first three shots and won immunity. The girls were speechless for a minute.

We never saw whether Amanda found the idol or not. At tribal, she said she tried, but couldn’t find it. She said Erik was denying her help and trash talked him. She also said Parvati was with her. Everyone else talked about how they couldn’t win against her and they really respected her, but she had to go. BUT…she had the idol and smartly played it. So, her and Parvati voted for Alexis and off she went. Which was fine, she was hurt anyhow. With James gone, I am hoping Erik wins the whole thing now.
