Survivor Gabon: Charlie is Eliminated
I am not really happy with this season of Survivor. It seems like people who should be there (i.e. Ace and Marcus) are gone while people who should have been gone weeks ago (i.e. Randy and Susie) are still around.
Fang won the reward challenge, but not before Matty (is it just me or is he starting to look like Eddie Munster?) and Randy got into it. Why, oh why, is Randy still around? Anyone? Anyhow, Fang got to see a Gabon dance, eat a good meal, and spend the night at a village. Bob went to Exile, where it never appeared to dawn on him that he couldn’t find the idol because Sugar had it. However, he did make a great looking fake idol to try to fool people. Kudos Bob!
The tribes were finally told at the immunity challenge that they were merged and the immunity tonight would be individual. It was to start a fire, then build it high enough to burn a rope above it. Of all people, Susie won! She and Sugar were the only two able to get a fire going, which just amazed me.
Back at the new camp, everyone chose the goofy tribe name of “Nobag” (Gabon backwards). Randy told Charlie he wanted Crystal gone and Charlie told him he could get the votes of Corinne and Bob. Meanwhile, Kenny, still bitter about having to throw away the immunity idol last week due to Charlie, told everyone he wanted Charlie gone. He made up the story that Charlie was the “brains” behind Kota and therefore dangerous. The swing vote was Sugar. Corinne tried to be nice to her for the first time, and then Kenny worked on her. But, Sugar said she didn’t trust Kenny after the Ace thing.
At tribal, Randy and Crystal got into it (big surprise there – not!) then Charlie talked about how he and Kenny had a growing friendship. That will have to wait until after the show as Charlie, the last remaining non-loser tribe member, was voted off. Hey, at least he gets to spend more time with Marcus.
