Survivor: Laura is Eliminated
Wow, just wow. Has there ever been a “Survivor” contestant as skillful as Russell? Okay, I was ready to give him props when he was running Foa Foa, but now, he has irreversible broken Galu. Foa Foa came in with four people to Galu’s eight – seemingly impossible odds against them. Yet, after tonight’s vote, the remaining Foa Foa tribe members are running the show.
Russell was on the team that won the challenge and they got a clue to the whereabouts of the hidden immunity idol. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before…Russell goes hunting and finds the hidden immunity idol…again. This time though, he didn’t share the find and didn’t have to use it.
Mick and Jaison offered Monica a deal, which she should have taken, but she didn’t. She wanted to protect her friend Laura and get rid of John. She told Laura that Shambo and John were aligned with Foa Foa.
Mick won immunity, which was inconsequential since he wasn’t even on the vote off radar. Shambo told Brett she was voted for Laura, saying “There is no more Galu.” Truer words have never been spoken.
Monica’s plan was to tell Foa Foa she was voting for John, get them to vote for him, and then they would have the votes to get rid of Natalie. Oh Monica, Russell isn’t going to fall for something that simple. Once John found out the plan was to have four votes against him, he was not happy. Russell went to him with an idea – let the first vote come up tied. On the second vote, John would flip. If not, it would go to everyone turning over rocks and whoever got the odd color was out.
And, that is exactly how it went down. Once the last vote of the second round was announced and Laura was told she was out, the faces were priceless. Laura looked confused, Shambo laughed, Dave looked puzzled, and Monica looked like she felt she was screwed…which I am afraid she is.
Russell the puppet master may not win, but he certainly deserves the million for making it a very, very enjoyable and shocking season.
