Survivor Tocantin: Candace is Blindsided
The Survivors grossed me out a bit tonight as they ate termites – well, at least the guys. Over at Timbira, Sierra tried to bond with Brendan by telling him about the hidden idol and having him help her search for it. Coach and Candace got into a fight about cooking rice and beans in the same pot. I would have thought the rice would have cooking quicker, but what do I know?
Over at Jalapao, the guys all freak out when they find out that Taj is married to former NFL player and Heisman trophy winner Eddie George. Some of them also start thinking she doesn’t need the million dollar prize.
The challenge was brutal – the tribes had to get in the lake and fight for a ball then try to score in their net. The first tribe to score three baskets won immunity, fishing equipment, and got to send someone from the other tribe to Exile. It was like naked basketball because not only were they in the lake, but it was raining hard too. Timbira quickly went up 2-0, but Japapao ended up scoring the final three baskets for the win. They chose Brendan to go to Exile, but Jeff had a twist – Brendan got to chose someone from the winning team to take with him. He chose Taj.
At Exile, they each had to choose an urn. Taj’s had nothing in it, but Brendan’s had a clue and a note that said he could defect to the other team if he wanted. He chose not to do that and tried to ward off Taj, but finally shared the clue with her. It’s a good thing! The clue said the idol was at the tribal homelands and Brendan couldn’t figure out that was where they lived until Taj told him. The two decided there was an idol at each camp and said they would work together. When Brendan returned to his tribe, he told them Taj got the clue and he wasn’t sure if she found the idol or not.
Back at Jalapao, J.T. and Stephen went fishing. They didn’t catch anything, but Stephen declared he was smitten with J.T. and hopes to be seen as his goofy right hand man and stay around longer.
It seemed like Timbira was going to send Sierra home, but Candace kept opening her mouth, talking trash about Coach. He turned the tables on her and Sierra dodged another bullet this week. Coach may be emerging as a power player as he got everyone to switch their vote from Sierra to Candace, calling her a negative cancer to the tribe. Needless to say, Candace was not happy being voted out.
