Sweet Home Indeed
Birmingham, Alabama – hometown of previous Idols Ruben Studdard, Bo Bice, and Taylor Hicks. There were some good and some bad singers tonight.
Erica – she was so cute and country, but the singing – ew. And she just kept going and going. Hey, here’s a clue – once the judges tell you “No,” just leave. Paula got up and I thought security was going to have to escort her out. Katie was cute – I liked how her voice went from little girl when talking to deeper when singing. I think she will do okay in Hollywood.
Diana scared me with the Michael Jackson glove (is that coming back?). Bernard was okay – he seemed kinda generic, but he got through. Maybe he will improve. Margaret was hilarious in her Big Bird outfit. “How old are you? How old are you?” Simon kept asking. She said she was 26, then 30 something and finally admitted to being 50. At least she was a good sport (as were most of the bad singers – a lot of them thanked the judges for their time).
Speaking of funny, I loved Chris. And his voice wasn’t bad either. The “I want to make David Hasselhoff cry” thing cracked me up! I am anxious to see more of him. The mom and daughter Cousin Its seemed kinda Stepford Wife like and her singing seemed better suited for church. And the hair kinda creeped me out. Anything past the small of your back is TOO long!
Then there was Nicole. The rejection banter was all funny until she said something about “Randy’s fat *&^.” That was just wrong. I kinda half way expected Randy to come out and pound her for that comment. Simon had me rolling with the “Call me” stuff.
Tonight, LA!
