The Amazing (Rat) Race

With Rob and Amber gone, the race takes on a completely new excitement between the remaining teams.  Danny and Oswald left first.  The teams were to search an snowy slope with n avalanche beacon to find their new (buried) clue.  The blondes raced up the mountain before they realized they forgot their beacon.  That little maneuver would have put them in last if Danny and Oswald hadn’t been so hopelessly lost in finding their clue.

After searching, the teams found a clue that said their next stop would be Maputo, Mozambique – 7,000 miles away!  Once they go their, Eric took an opportunity to mess with the Guidos.  Messing with them is okay, but calling them “freaks” was uncalled for.  The Roadblock was to use a rat on a leash to find a race marker located above a deactivated landmine.  Charla had a real hard time, putting her and Mirna in last place.

The Detour in Maputo was Pamper or Porter.  Pamper was to paint nails in the town market.  You had to make enough to raise 30 meticais – about one U.S. dollar.  In Porter, teams had to fill up ten 45 bags of charcoal, seal them, and carry one to a local residence.  Why most everyone chose Porter, I don’t know.  It was hard, dirty work.  Charla and Mirna breezed through the nail painting – putting them in first.  The blondes also chose nail painting.  Teri and Ian were going for the Porter, but ended up at the market by mistake, so decided to paint nails. Fortunately, the only had to paint the nails of two girls to get the money.

Charla and Mirna finished first, their “first first.”  They won a trip for two to Aruba.  The blondes finished second.  Because they didn’t have to do many nails, Teri and Ian finished in third.  Danny and Oswald finished fourth, after trying to hug Phil with their dirty selves.  The Guidos raced Eric and Danielle to the finish line, with Danielle getting beat as Eric put it “by a bunch of queens.”  Eric’s attitude is really starting to annoy me.  Uchenna and Joyce finished in last, but thankfully, it was a non-elimination leg.  Now they have to arrive first to the next pit stop or face a 30-minute penalty.
