The Bachelor: After the Final Rose – What the Heck?
I wrote so much about “The Bachelor” finale, I decided to do a separate blog about the After the Final Rose ceremony. They closed the studio up (no audience) and made a big deal of that. What could happen?
Jason seemed kinda somber when he came out to talk to Chris. He’s been saying he was engaged and in love in interviews…I thought. He said since the show ended, things had been different and he and Melissa weren’t right for each other. Jason said Melissa knew that things were different with him and for the past few weeks, he couldn’t quit thinking of Molly. You have got to be kidding me!
Jason told Chris he planned to end it with Melissa and ask Molly for another shot. Melissa didn’t look happy when Jason told her that the chemistry was gone and she said she thought things were perfect. He went back to the old “falling for two people at the same time” routine and told her about his feelings for Molly. Needless to say, Melissa was ticked. Was she seriously looking at her shoe while he was talking to her? That was too funny!
Oh, she called him a “bastard.” Oh no honey, don’t give the ring back! When the guy breaks the engagement, the girl gets to keep the ring – those are the rules! That’s just wrong. Chris left (I would have left the room too!). She told him he should know better than to do something like this (and he should). She told him not to call her anymore and to leave her alone. Great, now Jason has humiliated two beautiful women on television.
And honestly, was it necessary to relive the whole rose ceremony with Molly? I mean we JUST saw it 30 minutes ago! So, Molly comes out and my disgust is growing.
Jason came out and she said he looked nervous. He finally told Molly that he broke up with Melissa because he couldn’t quit thinking of her. She looked puzzled and then when he asked about going out for coffee, she seemed disgusted. Join the club sister, join the club. Jason said he was still in love with Molly. She said she was confused and they had a lot to talk about, but her feelings never went away. She agreed to see where things go, but then kissed him. I guess we know where they are going to go!
I know ABC wanted this to be a happy “aw” moment, but I am appalled. I really think this whole thing was staged to up the ratings. I really do. I mean the whole “you’re making a big mistake” thing from Molly, then the vagueness of why he broke up with Melissa.
This is all giving me a headache. It seems like every season, I fall for the bachelor, and then at the end of the season, he turns out to be a complete cad. Brad turned down both the girls, Matt chose that hoochie Shayne and they only stayed together for a few months, then Jason pulls this stunt.
Oh good, tomorrow night we get the second part of the final rose ceremony show. Wait, wait, let me guess – he’s ditched Molly for DeAnna!
