The Bachelorette: Eric, Ryan and Chris go home without roses

One might think that the women on the Bachelor are more catty than the men on the Bachelorette, but tonight the claws started to come out and the main target of the claws was Jeremy.  Jeremy started to win over DeAnna’s heart but he’s certainly ending up on the s*it list with the rest of the guys.

There were two group dates and one individual date tonight.  The first group date was to an exclusive club that was magic themed.  There were a lot of magic tricks and illusions going on throughout but the most interesting one was during the magic show.  A magician asks DeAnna to come up on stage and do a trick and asks her to pick out a bachelor to help.  She picks out Jason and the trick was to make them “disappear” for some serious one on one time.  It helped out because Jason ended up with a rose at the rose ceremony.  The individual rose for that group date went to Paul, meaning he could relax a bit knowing he was safe that week.

Next up was an individual date with Graham at the beach.  All seemed to be going well with them until DeAnna tells him that she was concerned that all he wanted to be was in love and the girl didn’t matter.  Then she changed her tune and said that he proved her wrong and gave him the rose for the individual date.  They shared a kiss at the end of the date, the first for this series.

Twilley was worried that he gave the wrong impression to DeAnna on the group date so he stalked her outside the mansion waiting for her to come home from the date with Graham.  She didn’t seem to happy to see him there; later on she said she was thrown for a loop because she didn’t expect to see another bachelor waiting for her to return from an individual date.  He was trying to express to her that he has serious intentions but it didn’t come out all that well.

The second group date was to Dodger Stadium where Dodger great Tommy Lasorda gave some advice to the guys and to DeAnna.  The challenge of a home run hitting contest was presented and the one to hit the most home runs got alone time with DeAnna.  Jeremy wins the challenge.  During their alone time he reveals to her that both of his parents had died and she said later that he was the first guy she dated who could truly understand what she had been through.  The cynic in me wondered if he made the story up to get her trust.  After some more time at the stadium DeAnna takes Jeremy aside to give him the rose for the date.  This exchange is broadcast on the big screen in the park for the rest of the guys to see.

Jason finally came clean to some of the guys that he has a son but hasn’t told DeAnna yet.  He asks the guys not to say anything.  We see in promos from next week that he finally admits this fact to her.  It’ll be interesting to see her reaction.

At the party before the rose ceremony the claws came out in force.  Twilley takes DeAnna aside again and apologizes for stalking (not his words, but my interpretation) and this time she seems to be more responsive to him.  His effort worked because he got the last rose of the night at the rose ceremony.  Jeremy interrupts this alone time to take DeAnna away and ends up kissing her.  This ticks off all the other guys because they think he should have taken a back seat because he has a rose and let another guy try to get one.  He does show some humility though in the push up contest when he bows out early.  At least that’s what he said he did.  I question his sincerity.  I don’ t know why, I just do.  Jesse wins the push up contest and gets some alone time with DeAnna which is very well received by her.

In the end the three bachelors sent home were Ryan, Chris and Eric.  Ryan was the 28 year old football player who had a very strong faith and moral background and admitted that he was still a virgin.  I think that for DeAnna this could have been a really high standard to be held to, one that she might think she couldn’t meet.  Chris, well I’m not sure why he’s gone.  Eric only talked about being Greek and Greece with DeAnna and I think that she thinks there is more to her than her ethnicity.

I think the frontrunners right now are Jeremy, Jesse, and Graham.
