The Bachelorette: Wes Shows his True Colors
I wondered how much longer Jillian would turn a blind eye to the rumor of Wes’ girlfriend and tonight on “The Bachelorette,” she finally gave him the old heave-ho.
Jillian, Ed, Reid, Kiptyn, and Wes were all in Spain for romantic dates and possibly spending the night together in the fantasy suite. The first date was with Kiptyn, who told Jillian a proposal seemed far away. Did he not get the memo on how this show works? Anyhow, that seemed to turn Jillian off and she said she wasn’t ready to spend the night with him. She gave the same spiel to Reid, saying she wanted to wait. When she was with Ed, she also told him she wanted to wait, but he said he wanted to spend time with her and she figured since she had missed time with him the two weeks he was gone, they would stay in the fantasy suite together.
Then, there was the Wes date. Is he so cool that he can’t dress up, like ever, even just a little? Jillian brought up the same conversation about the girlfriend/career and he denied the girlfriend – again. He said his manager wanted him to go on the show for the exposure. When she mentioned how he hadn’t been affectionate with her, he threw back that he was afraid she would reject him and he had a hard time thinking about her falling for the other guys. Please! He also said he wasn’t there to hurt her, but he had to look out for “numero uno.” Yes, he actually said that. That alone should have been enough to kick him to the curb! She felt he was distant then brought up Laurel. He said he told Jake about her, then said “My girlfriend…(pregnant pause) my ex-girlfriend.” It all felt so contrived to me. Last week, she trusted him, this week she didn’t. He wouldn’t even kiss her tonight.
At the rose ceremony, Wes told the other guys congratulations before Jillian came out then added that he’d be back home having lots of sex. Ugh. Jillian gave Ed the first rose, and then Reid got the second one. I wonder if she is leery of Kiptyn because of the lack of commitment from him. Regardless, he got the final rose, whether it was because she wanted to keep him or just because she didn’t want to give one to Wes.
What I find hard to believe is how Wes acted in the limo after he left. He bragged that he was the first guy in Bachelorette history to have a girlfriend all the way through the whole show. He talked badly about the remaining three guys and talked about cutting the shackles off and acting wild in Spain on his last night there. Really, none of this inspires me to go out and purchase this loser’s CD.

Good. I’m glad he’s gone. Not that all the guys who go on the show aren’t hoping for a little self promotion or exposure for their careers but this guy was so obvious.

Wes was a jerk, but I don’t really trust any of the ones left. I thought maybe Jake was there for the real reasons and possibly Michael, but they are both gone now. I don’t see a real possibility of love for Jillian out of the remaining guys.
