The Biggest Loser: Patty is Eliminated
The trainers actively participated this week. First, they had to refuse a cupcake, which would give their team an advantage at weigh in if they had actually eaten them. Then they had to compete in the challenge, which was for each team to bid on the time it would take them to go down a hill, get a flag, and bring it back up the hill as a team. The Red and Blue Teams challenged the Black team, who said they could do it in 5:25. They fell a bit short, but were glad they tried and finished. Then the Blue and Red teams challenged each other. You could sense Blue didn’t really want to do it, so they challenged Red and Red won, with 18 seconds to spare. The prize was a secret until weigh-in. The Blue team felt disappointed for not even trying and Bob made them pay for it in the gym.
At the weigh-in, the Red team found out that their prize was immunity – for the whole team. The other teams were shocked, but it was a good thing for Red. Their numbers were terrible. Phil was the biggest loser on the team with 5 pounds. Amy lost 1, David lost 1, and Bryan lost 2. Combined, the whole team didn’t even break double digits. Their total weigh loss percentage was a dismal .69%.
The Black team had no problem putting up big numbers though. After Hollie’s 3 pounds, we saw big numbers from Jez (8), Julie (7), Jim (11), Bill (13) and even Isabeau (8). Combined, they lost 50 pounds for a 3% weight loss.
The pressure was on the Blue team to not go to elimination for the second week in a row, but they didn’t do well. Neil started off with double digits (11), but everyone else fell a bit short. Nicole lost 4, Patti lost 5, Ryan lost 6, and Kae lost 6. Bob said the Red team should consider themselves lucky to have won the challenge because their numbers were “embarrassing.” Kae was immune from elimination and with one vote for Nicole and one for Neil, it was Patty that was eliminated. She went home and lost an additional 36 pounds.
The contestants learned that the Biggest Loser campus would be shutting down next week, including the kitchen, dorm, and gym. But, we don’t know the full details of what is going on.
