The Biggest Loser: The Weight is Over

This year, Bob and Kim are back, with new host Alison Sweeney. And a twist – a black team that no one else knows about. The black team is the six people who were not chosen on the original teams. Thinking they were going home, they were depressed until Jillian – yes Jillian – pulled up. But after the workouts started, they were really depressed! They will join the Biggest Loser Campus (no frills this time) in two weeks.

The team captains would be whoever reached Bob or Kim in the desert (after they skydived out of a plane!) first. They had to run about a mile to reach them. And who was the first one there? Jerry, the oldest Biggest Loser competitor ever at the age of 62. Next up was Phil the former football player. For the Blue Team, Jerry chose Kae, Neil (the biggest at 421), Patty, Nicole, and Ryan. For the Red Team, Phil chose Bryan, Amber (a paramedic who feel behind on the initial run and everyone helped her finish), Amy, David, and Lezlye (whose home was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina).

During the first week, Amber kept expressing a wish to go home, but Kim kept talking her out of it. Both teams told Alison how much weight they hoped to lose and that amount of weight in luggage appeared. Each team had to carry the luggage to a plane, load it, then pull the plane across a finish line to get letters from home. The Blue Team loaded their luggage first, but the Red Team was the first to cross the finish line.

And the Red Team did well at the weigh in, losing 87 pounds. Bob and the Blue Team looked worried. But Kae, who was the smallest there at 225, lost a whopping 20 pounds for an OMG moment. That only lasted a few minutes because it all came down to Jerry – the old guy, again. Jerry was the lightest guy at 297 and Bob looked worried. Jerry needed to lose at least six pounds. In the second OMG moment, Jerry stepped on the scales and he was told he lost 30 pounds – the most that was ever lost in one week on Biggest Loser. Let’s hear it for the senior citizens! Jerry kicked everyone’s butt this week!

The Red Team had to send someone home. Lezlye attacked Amber then Phil, who had chosen her first for his team, told her that her wanting to go home was like a slap in his face. At the voting ceremony, it was not much of a surprise to see everyone vote for Amber and she had to leave. But, she did lose 65 pounds on her own, which was impressive!
