The Crying Game
Are we to the finals yet? This show just seems to drag on and on and on. Tonight, we saw last night’s winners, The Passing Zone, do another routine. I think perhaps they are my favorites so far.
The Weird and Whacky Talent segment has been renamed Crazy Caliber Talent – whatever THAT means. Tonight’s theme was musical bodyparts. Be afraid, be very afraid. We saw Stamen play his teeth, Sklyar sing with a little help from helium, Sammi played her ears, and beautiful little Alexis burped her way through “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” with the help of her friend Alicia. Strange, strange, strange. The audience voted for Stamen, but frankly, it made my teeth hurt to watch him perform.
Why must these results show last a whole hour? Is there nothing else on television? I am sure I could curl up with a good book for 30 minutes if they shortened it to a half hour, which is more than enough time to give the results. There is NO reason for this show to last an hour. The filler time from Tom Green was dumb. Cirque du Soleil was amazing, but just reminded me what real talent can do.
It came down to the final top two vote getters – Quick Change and Celtic Springs. Of course, Celtic Springs won, which teaches us just one thing – if you have a child in your act and Piers makes them cry, you can sail through to the finals.
Finally, at the end of the show Hasselhoff sang for the audience. Are the Germans deaf or just easily amused? I’d say he should stick to his day job, but then he’s not really great at that either. Oh well, at least it is over.
