The final 10 remain
We will be down to the top ten tonight. When I heard Barry Manilow was performing tonight, I wondered if they would bring Bobby Bennett back. You may remember Bobby – he made the top 24, but was the first to go. Bobby seemed to have an almost unnatural attraction to Barry Manilow and now, his own personal American Idol was on the stage. Of course, they had Bobby in the audience and brought him up after Barry finished. That was nice.
As for the rest of the show, I was not as pleased. As I predicted, Bucky was in the bottom three. Lisa was in the bottom three for the second week in a row. Then – gasp, Kevin aka Chicken Little, aka America’s Newest Sex Symbol was announced as being in the bottom three. I was seriously shocked – out of all the weeks, Kevin’s performance of “When I Fall in Love” was possibly his best. And I certainly thought he would be safe this week. I realistically knew Kevin would not be the next American Idol, but I never thought tonight would be the night. But it was – Kevin left us last night. All I can say is Lisa had better step it up a notch and hopefully Bucky will have a better night next week. It just will not be the same next week without Kevin – sob.
