The Final Three Teams

Tonight was to determine the final three teams.  The Barbies had to finish first or suffer a 30 minute penalty.  The teams drove through some scary mountains on the way to their first Road Block.  In this one, one of the team members had to prepare and eat Camel meat.  It actually didn’t look that bad – not nearly as bad as the cow lips they had to consume a few weeks ago!

After eating the camel, all teams were equal as they had to fly to Barcelona, Spain.  There, they had to run through a hedge maze.  Next, they faced a Detour – lug it or lob it.  In lug it, they had to wear 9 ½ foot traditional costumes and walk more than a mile to find another giant with their clue.  The Models and Barbies chose to do this detour.  In lob it, the team had to search through what looked like a million tomatoes for their next clue while locals were throwing tomatoes at them.  The Bama Girls and Rob and Kimberly chose this detour.  Rob seemed to enjoy getting out his aggression by throwing tomatoes back, but Kimberly was crying and having a total meltdown.  Against all odds, both teams found the tomatoes quicker than the Models and Barbies were able to find the giant.

Rob and Kimberly were first to arrive at the Pit Stop and won a trip to Barbados.  Rob still gets on my nerves, but it was sweet when he said he wanted to win the million so he could marry Kimberly and start a family.  The Bama Girls were second – the first all female team in Amazing Race history to make it to the final three.  How strange is that?  The Models came in third, so the Barbies were eliminated.

I just cannot get over the fact that the Bama Girls are in the final three and the Barbies aren’t!

Thanks again for the Amazing Race post. My stupid Comcast Cable DVR failed me again and I missed the show. (And does anyone know why CBS doesn’t make it available through OnDemand like they do with all the CSI’s, Survivor, and their other shows?)

Anyway, I have to say I’m completely stunned by ‘bama making it this far. I would have sworn they’d be like the Glamazon sisters from a couple of seasons ago and fail out in the early rounds. Since they’ve made it this far, I’m going to hope they take it all. It’d be nice to see the prize go to a couple of mothers vs. some young no-responsibility kids.

I could have also done away with the drama of Rob and Kimberly, but if they’ve continued to calm down, they’re not so bad. Odds are they will take this assuming no more vehicle or navigation troubles.

The drug-addicts are nice and all, but not nearly as entertaining as team TTOW from last season. I applaud them for staying clean, and something tells me their lives will be just fine with or without the grand prize.

Anyone want to send me a bootleg copy of last week’s show since both CBS and Comcast are failing? :)
