The Good, The Bad, and The Brown Eggs
Tonight’s Quick Fire challenge was interesting – make up an entrée, but you can’t use heat – raw only. The contestants were set loose in the market and had access to great vegetables and raw seafood. Most of them did well, but the bottom three were Betty (for bad presentation), Mia, and Michael. It seems like Michael is always in the bottom three and Frank said he was ready to see him go home. The top three were Elia, Frank, and Marcel, with Marcel finally winning his first Quick Fire challenge. He did his immunity dance – hopefully we will never see that again!
The Elimination Challenge was to cook breakfast, but they didn’t know where they would be cooking it or what they would have access to as far as a kitchen and utensils. They were only told they would be cooking for athletes after a workout. The athletes were surfers and the contestant’s kitchen was an open pit on the beach. Poor Michael left his eggs behind, but Betty, Sam, and Cliff were all nice and gave him eggs. Frank said he was a hack and unfortunately, I like Frank, but Karma came back to bit him in the butt.
The top three were Elia, Betty, and Mia. Everyone raved about Elia’s ham and eggs on a waffle and she was declared the winner. The bottom three was Frank, Cliff, and Sam. I thought Frank’s was the best of the three. The judges said Cliff’s didn’t taste bad, but the presentation was terrible. I thought Sam would be going home – even SAM thought Sam would be going home, but they asked Frank to pack his knives and go. But Frank was pretty gracious in his loss.
