The Grand Finale
I am probably going to get grief for this, but I have to say it – MARIO WAS ROBBED TONIGHT. If you saw the finale, you know that Emmitt won the disco trophy. I like Emmitt, he has come a long way as a dancer, but it is so obvious that Mario is the better dancer. I have heard some comments from Emmitt fans such as “Emmitt came a long way – having no dance experience.” Are we rewarding hard work here? If that is the case, then Joey was robbed because no one came out with more heart and gusto than him each night. Other people have said, “Emmitt was more entertaining.” If that is the case, then the trophy should have gone to Jerry. Who was more entertaining this season than Jerry Springer?
Just what is the trophy awarded for? I thought it was to be awarded to the best dancer. The judges all but gave it to Mario after his freestyle performance last night. What it came down to was a popularity contest. There were web sites protesting against a Mario win because he had some training in his background. I wonder what affect they had on the outcome.
And I like Emmitt – I really, really do. He is cute, affable, entertaining, charming, and can dance. Just not as good as Mario.
