THE HEAT IS ON
Each season the dancing on Dancing With the Stars gets better. Emmitt Smith is showing the fans that recently retired football players such as he and Jerry Rice can do a lot more than play football. Last season Jerry was excellent; this season Emmitt- wow what can you say! He is top notch.
Monique is doing one great job of representing the female contestants. As we all know, pair dancing is geared to focus on the female, the male is just a frame for her, and Monique is doing a marvelous job. Her footwork is impeccable, and that paso doble was superb! The male contestants have an edge in that their partners are experienced ballroom dancers. That said, Louis is doing one heck of a job in presenting Monique.
Joey’s fox trot was more of a show piece than a fox trot. Gene Kelly he’s not, and his mambo could not hold a candle to the one danced by Emmitt Smith. I think Mario Lopez is exploring a career as a professional ballroom dancer, he has come so far and has such style; all he lacks is the discipline.
What can you say about Jerry Springer? His fox trot to “My Way” was almost as emotional as the waltz he did for his daughter, and he actually moved his hips in the mambo. However, I think the time has come for him to turn in his dance shoes, much as he adds to the show, the competetition is way above his head.
The results show tomorrow will feature Martina McBride. Too bad Tony and Sara aren’t there to two-step.
