The Losing Begins
Biggest Loser chose 50 people – one from each state for Season three. Unfortunately, only 14 were going to stay. Bob and new trainer Kim were to each pick 7 people for their team. I thought this was a bit cruel, as you could tell those not chosen were visibly upset. But, there was a little good news for them. The male and female who lose the most weight will be brought back on the show. Each got a personalized training program, help from a nutritionist, and a gym to go to, so that made me feel a little better.
The first challenge was to climb five walls that got progressively taller. But the team had to work together to do it. The red team won, but it was a dead heat going to the final wall. The prize was the red team could send whoever they felt lost the least amount of weight on their team to the blue team and choose someone from there that they felt lost the most amount of weight. They made a good swap – Jenn (who lost 9 pounds) for Amy (who lost 16 pounds). The red team lost at total of 98 pounds (4.75% of their total). That was good, but not quite good enough. The blue team had to lose at least 101 pounds to win. They lost 108 (5.05% of their total). If the red team had chosen Brian (the biggest loser with 23 pounds) instead of Amy, they would have won.
Since the red team had to eliminate someone, Heather jumped all over Jenn for not trying. But, oddly enough, Heather had the second lowest weight loss. She lost 9 pounds, only one more than Jenn. But the team felt Jenn wasn’t working her hardest and sent her home. Since being eliminated, Jenn has lost an additional 58 pounds for a total of 66. Not too bad for someone eliminated first!
