The Next Food Network Star
If you love the Food Network, you will be glad to hear that the reality show “The Next Food Network Star” will return June 1st. This season, Iron Chef Bobby Flay will be joined by Food Network execs Bob Tuschman and Susie Fogelson as the judges. Tuschman said that last year’s show was the “highest-rated, most watched series ever” and that they hope to raise the bar this year. That may be hard to do after last year’s drama when finalist Joshua Adam Garcia (JAG) was forced to withdraw after it came to light that he had lied about both his culinary education and his military career. This caused the reinstating of previously eliminated contestant Amy Finley, who went on to beat Rory Schepisi in the finale.
Among the ten contestants this season is a stand-up comic, a marketing manager, a food writer, and of course, several caterers, restaurateurs, and executive chefs. Each week, the contestants will be faced with challenges ant the one that does not perform well enough will be sent home. When only two remain, the American public is allowed to vote for the winner.
