The night of two perfect scores on Dancing With The Stars
All the couples on Dancing With The Stars tonight performed a different dance. That makes it kind of hard for the average viewer at home. Last week when everyone did the Samba we could compare apples to apples, so to speak. This week it’s like comparing apples to oranges. It’s all about what tastes better to you. Our couples also did a group Viennese Waltz. I know the judges said it’s a demanding and difficult dance, but to me going around in circles is not nearly as exciting as the Paso Doble or the Quickstep.
Tonight for the first time there were two perfect scores given out. The first went to Drew Lacey and his partner Cheryl Burke for their Tango. The second went to Stacy Keibler and Tony Dovolani for their Jive. The judges might have thought their performances were good, but I have to say I was underwhelmed by both of their performances. Maybe it’s because since the first show Drew and Stacy have been the favorites. They’ve always been way beyond the rest of the celebrities in terms of the performances given. However, I’ve seen so much improvement in Lisa Rinna, George Hamilton and Jerry Rice that I have to say they had the best performances of the evening. Jerry reminded me of a Samurai warrior in his Paso Doble. Lisa made me think of a graceful movie star from years gone past. And George – well, George has really come a long way and his age is a really big obstacle that he’s overcome with grace, style and great performances.
Maybe the judges thought Drew and Stacy were perfect tonight. Me, I’d rather watch the couples who are constantly improving. I remember how rough Lisa, George and Jerry were in the first show. Boy, they have come a long way. They definitely have my votes this week for the couples who deserve to move on to the semi finals next week.
