The Samba and the Salsa on Dancing With The Stars
Tonight was the first week that the couples on Dancing With the Stars had to perform two different dances, and also the first time this season they all did the same dance. Overall the performances in both dances – the individual Samba and the group Salsa – were fantastic! Drew and Cheryl, although not the highest ranking couple this week, are my favorites to win. But the judges….what is it with them anyway? Has the popularity of the show spurned them to making a spectacle of the judging portion of the show? They speak over each other, and at times tonight I think that Len, Carrie and Bruno were disagreeing for the sake of being disagreeable. Perhaps they’re upset that the spotlight shines more brightly on the celebrities and their professional partners. Judges – who are they anyway? I think we’d all still tune in no matter who the judges were.
Based on tonight’s performances, I don’t think anyone deserves to get kicked off the show yet. We’ll have to tune in tomorrow not only to watch one of the greatest performers ever (Barry Manilow) but also to see who leaves Dancing With the Stars in week 5.
