The Semi-Final
Well, when the dancing finally started on the semi-final show, it was well worth the wait. And when I say wait, I mean WAIT! ABC gave us a full half hour (including a multitude of commercials and voting results) of rehashing the best performances of the results shows. Pleeze- give us a break- we turned in to focus on the performances of the three dancing couples, not the group jive, and the stupid SWOP demo. Now, they could have shown a snippet of the performances of Lionel Ritchie, Tom Jones and Rod Stewart, not the whole songs. An hour and a half is just too long when it comes to this point of the competetion.
Having sounded off on that; the performances of the three semi-finalists were their best to date. Emmett Smith has improved to the point where I don’t recognize the person who started off in September. If you pay attention to his performance, he is the contestant who actually does the footwork for the dances, along with showcasing his partner. Mario has a definite challenger on his hands. Joey does the job of showcasing Edyta beautifully; his quick step was very good, but his rhumba was just posture.
I think of the three remaining, Emmett is the tops. I won’t vote for him, because as I said before, my vote is the kiss of death.
