Tiffany Eliminated from Hell’s Kitchen
The third season of Hell’s Kitchen premiered this evening and as always Chef Ramsey was full of hell himself. The contestants for the season 3 are:
- Tiffany from Phoenix, AZ - 27 year old Kitchen Manager
- Rock from Spotsylvania, VA – 30 year old Executive Chef
- Josh from Miami Beach, FL - 26 year old Assistant Sous Chef
- Melissa from New York, NY – 29 year old Line Cook
- Eddie from Atlanta, GA – 28 year old Grill Cook
- Joanna from Detroit, MA – 22 year old Chef’s Assistant
- Brad from Scottsdale, AZ – 25 year old Sous Chef
- Julia from Atlanta, GA – 28 year old Short-Order Cook
- Aaron from Palos Verdes, CA – 48 year old Retirement Home Chef
- Bonnie from Los Angeles, CA – 26 year old Nanny/Personal Chef
- Vinnie from Milltown, NJ – 29 year old Night Club Chef
- Jen from Hazleton, PA – 26 year old Pastry Chef
The signature dishes of these contestants did not go over well with Chef Ramsey as he only appeared to like the dishes from Tiffany and Jen.
For the first competition of the season 3, the teams were broken down into the “Blue” team consisting of the men and the “Red” team consisting of the women. The red’s team performance was a disaster from the start. They could just not get along and continually ignored any thing that Julia had to say. In the end, she did come through by being able to cook the eggs for one of their dishes which were something that Tiffany could not do herself. The team was so disasters that Chef Ramsey called the red team – “Hell’s Bitches” because they did nothing but complain and fight.
The blue team seemed to work much more like a team. They were able to get out a little more then half of their dishes. The weakest person on their team was no doubt Aaron the Retirement Home Chef. To be honest, I am not even sure how he got on the show. He cracked right from the get go. He reminded me of Mike from Top Chef, but Mike at least had some confidence and never broke down like a baby.
With all reality tv shows these days, controversy just seems to be a necessity. I nearly fell off my couch after listening to the conversation between Melissa and Tiffany. Melissa was telling Tiffany that “she was definitely not going” but when asked who should be eliminated from Hell’s Kitchen she named Tiffany and Joanna.
I have to admit that I will be rooting for Jen as she is very close to my home town of “Scranton”.

I think that if Top Chef were the Cadillac of cooking shows, Hell’s Kitchen would be the Yugo. How did these people get on the show? Did the audition process even have a cooking test? I disagree that Julia is like Mike from Top Chef – Mike at least had a degree from a culinary school. While Julia seems like a nice person, she certainly isn’t in the same league with someone who is an Executive Chef.
