Tonight! The Meaning of TTOW is Revealed!

Okay, maybe not. I don’t really know if the Hippies will finally tell us what TTOW means or not. And maybe it will make a difference if they win or not? I suspect Phil will ask. At this point, I doubt anyone really cares what it truly means. With silly hype-type things like this the longer it drags on the more you just hope it’s not seriously stupid. You still want to know, but you hope you don’t learn you’ve been waiting to hear something beyond lame.

The hippies go into tonight’s finale for Amazing Race 9 in first place. It’s a two hour episode, so I’m going to guess there will be no less than 4 points in the race when the teams are forcibly tied for first place. Whether waiting for a flight, or a public attraction of some sort to open its doors, I anticipate the producers will keep the drama level high and us fans guessing by keeping the teams close. It kind of bothers me when they do this, but I guess it’s better than letting one team run ahead and win and the rest of the episode is us watching to see who comes in last.

The ‘Flirting Frat Boys’ Eric and Jeremy are in second place. They’ve been great entertainment and have run a great race. They pretty much keep to themselves and seem to have had fun the entire way. There was the little distraction with Dani and Danielle (and I still couldn’t tell you which one hooked up with which) and one sneaky move when canceling the taxis for the other teams. But other than that they’ve stayed in the lead for most of the race and simply outpaced the other teams. If you could take total time of each leg for each of the teams I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that Eric and Jeremy should win by default.

And my favorite underdogs – Ray and Yolanda – the ‘Fighting Daters’ as CBS is calling them this week – are the last of the final three teams racing for the million dollars tonight. I’ve kind of cheered for Ray and Yolanda since the beginning since they also seemed to approach this race with the right attitude and have done well. We’ve all seen how their navigation and people skills have lagged a bit, but it looks like the final leg brings the teams back to North America and I’d assume Ray and Yolanda will not be at too much of a disadvantage.

I guess with these three teams I’d be pretty satisfied with whoever wins. If I HAD to pick favorites, at this moment I’m going with Ray and Yolanda for first, Eric and Jeremy for second, and BJ and Tyler in third. However, my bet for this evening shuffles it around and puts Eric and Jeremy in first, BJ and Tyler at second and Ray and Yolanda in third.

But will we really have to wait until the end of the episode to learn the true meaning of TTOW?

It starts here in about 30 minutes. I’ll let you know.
