TTOW from last to first headed into the finale
With only four teams left going into tonight’s episode of the Amazing Race, the competition is fierce. Having weeded out all the inferior teams, the remaining teams all have what it takes to be the winners.
Teams begin this journey in the Australian Outback. They all fly to Bangkok, Thailand. They then take a bus about 90 miles to the three spires, where they interact with sacred monkeys. Here, they find the Fast Forward. The Fast Forward requires them to take a taxi to a restaurant where each team member must eat a huge bowl of crickets and grasshoppers. The Road Block is also here. For this challenge, teams must prepare a feast for the monkeys. It turns out to be a fairly challenging task because the monkeys keep stealing food before it is done. Upon completion, teams are instructed to take a ferry to Koh Kret Island and find the Buddha garden. There, they must choose a task in the Detour. They all choose between Move It and Altar It. In Move It, teams must carry 72 clay pots, a physical task, and Altar It, where teams must build a shrine to the Buddha, a task that takes patience. From there, teams are instructed to go to the Pitstop.
BJ and Tyler start with nothing for this leg of the race. They have no money and BJ has no pants. Between the generosity of the other teams, and their ability to beg, the team manages to get back in the race. MoJo leaves the team nothing, and is labeled Cocky. For some reason, which I can’t quite figure out, they chose to go begging prior to booking their flight, which caused them to miss the flight everyone else was on. However, they got a break and a new flight opened up, which was scheduled to arrive 15 minutes before the other. Once they arrived, the team chose to do the Fast Forward. They each choked down a huge bowl of Grasshoppers and Crickets and were fast forwarded to the Pitstop. TTOW!
Eric and Jeremy left their flip flops for BJ on their way out. They made a good choice by passing up the Fast Forward and going strait to the Detour. They did surprisingly well with the Altar Challenge, joking about the Gold Leafing parties they have. This team has actually earned my respect the last few weeks. They have played a very no-nonsense game, and had a good time doing it. They have consistently done well, and probably deserve to win the race. This week, they fought a hard race, and managed to come in 2nd place.
Ray and Yolanda had an excellent last leg, arriving first for the first time and earned the right to depart first. They showed their class and some compassion for BJ and Tyler by leaving a pair of pants for BJ as they left. The team tried to do the Fast Forward but left early, unable to stomach the bugs, and gave their best to the Hippies. They completed the Altar task, and managed to come in 3rd. They also were lucky and had the Golden Gnome, and won a fantastic trip.
Joseph and Monica had a hard time this week. Before they even left the airport, Joe was freaked out by the Cabbie. The bad vibes continued as they missed the first bus, the second bus (even though they were there) and managed to get on the third bus. They first chose the Altar challenge, but then changed their minds switched to the Move It Challenge, which was the beginning of the end for them. The scene was all very reminiscent of Monica’s breakdown at the Fish Market a few weeks back. Monica stumbled with the task, which led to a complete breakdown in her, and in accomplishing the task. The team came in fourth place, and was eliminated from the race.
Alright, here are my predictions as we head in to the final 2 hour Finale. First place goes to Eric and Jeremy. Second place goes to Ray and Yolanda, and third Place goes to BJ and Tyler.
I will however, be rooting for Ray and Yolanda to walk away with the grand prize. They haven’t had the best luck, but are strong and likeable. I know one thing for sure, and that is the fact that it will be a close race, and some good entertainment for all of us viewers! But remember, if team TTOW wins, maybe we will finally get the answer to what TTOW truly means. If YOU already know what TTOW stands for, please share. Just-for-fun guesses are also welcome.
