First Show of the New Season of Dancing With the Stars
The season started out as the season usually does; there are a lot of nervous awkward contestants out there; some you know will be in for the long haul, and some will be out very soon. The ones who to me seem to have staying power are Ian, but then who wouldn’t when Cheryl Burke is your partner and Joey Fatone, who along with Apollo Ono will be the ones to beat. I’m not counting Laila out, but she does have to learn to follow, not lead. She has a lot of potential and quite a bit of arrogance.Heaven help Billy Ray, I thought he was the one with the wooden leg. His score was the lowest ever given; even lower than Kenny Maine and Tucker Carlson. Paulina has potential; after all Alex made a dancer out of Kelly Monaco, and Paulina is a tad better than Kelly was to begin with. The “Barbie and Ken” factor show promise, but the definitely need work; and Clyde has a long way to go to make the transition from basketball court to ballroom floor. I didn’t mean to exclude Leeza, but Tony has a lot of work to do there to get a decent performance out of her.
John Ratzenburger amazed me with his ease and his performance considering he didn’t have near the practice time as the rest. Heather, I think it’s time to go back to England and try to get a big settlement from Paul, because although you might elicit some sympathy votes; there’s no sympathy here.
That’s it for now, maybe next week there will be some better showings. Hey, am I the only one who misses Louis van Amsdel?
