What’s up with Paula Abdul
At ten o’clock sharp, I got a call from my friend who happens to run Is It Me? asking me if I happened to catch tonight’s (Tuesday 2/21/06) episode of American Idol. Before we go any further, let me emphasize that my friend has has virtually no interest in the show and only happened to catch the last twenty minutes of the live broadcast. When I answered that I had seen the show, he immediately asked “What’s up with Paula Abdul? Not only does she look like she aged ten years in the last week … I swear she’s half in the bag! The glazed over eyes … the overzelous arm gestures … and I could be wrong, but I thought I saw her dancing while standing on a chair during one of the last acts. At first, I thought it was me. But then, I started paying a little more attention to the body language Simon and Randy, and this furthered my suspitions about Paula’s sobriety. But what really put the clincher on my assesment was when I saw the “Botox applause” she offered after the last performance. But then I was told by my wife that this was a normal occurance.”
