Wild Card Night
The Wild Card Special tonight consisted of two acts picked by each judge and four runner-ups. But that seems to be overshadowed by two things – Piers making Dania cry and Leonid the Magnificent.
Frankly, I recorded tonight’s show and had to fast forward through many of the acts. Nathan Burton is great, Bobby Badfingers is oddly entertaining, and I watched Leonid. As for the rest, I’d let them start their act, then fast forward. It was all just too boring! Although, the harpist was so slow, I think my fast forward was even slowed down! Piers said the tonight this show was looking for “totally unique talent.” Apparently, that translates into “singer” as four of tonight’s acts were singers. But I digress.
Piers had asked Quick Change to change their act up a bit. They didn’t listen the first time and they didn’t listen last time. Piers came out with guns blazing. “Are you deaf? Are you dumb?” he asked. Which, mind you, that was a bit harsh, but still, he is right. I was amazed the first time I saw them. The second time, I was like “That’s still pretty cool.” Tonight, I was like “The same act? Again?” They could have at least changed the order of the changes or something. But Piers made Dania cry, so they may have a chance at the finale.
Brandy brought back two young singers – what a big surprise – NOT! David Hasselhoff decided to bring back Leonid the Magnificent. I’ll be honest – all ten of my votes went to Leonid. If America cannot appreciate a really great drag queen when they see one, well, I just don’t know. The man (and I use that term loosely) turned himself into a human Slinky and hula hooped with his butt. Talk about totally unique talent!
The judges picked All That, but to me, they are only half of that, without the bag of chips. These guys just don’t impress me. All kidding aside with Leonid, if I were one of the judges, I would have voted Nathan Burton through. And not made Dania cry.
