CBS Reality TV Shows
Several high quality reality tv programs have aired on the CBS television network. They include:
The Amazing Race - A competition reality television program, The Amazing Race features teams of two competing against each other while racing around the world. One team is eliminated each week and the winner of the final leg of the race is rewarded with a substantial prize. This reality television program first aired in 2001 and has been the recipient of the Emmy Award on several occasions.
Big Brother - This is a reality show in which a group of strangers live together in an isolated house. They face off against each other in various competitions to win the cash prize. Julie Chen has been the host for all the seasons that have aired in the US.
Rock Star - In this reality show, talented singers from around the world will come together in a competition to determine who will be the lead singer of a musical group featured in the show. Dave Navarro and Brooke Burke were the hosts of the first season. INXS was the rock group featured in season 1, while SuperNova (featuring former Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee) was the rock group featured in season 2.
Survivor - This is one of the most popular reality shows to air on the CBS network. It was first introduced in the year 2000, and since its introduction, many versions of the show have been produced in other countries. In the format of this show, the contestants will be isolated in a remote area, and they must compete in a variety of challenges (usually physical in nature) to win a cash prize. Survivor is credited for putting the reality tv genre on the map.
